Truncated Forms: Truncated forms are Cut from a circle, but the center has a circle cut around the center point. This creates an open cone.
Simple Cones. Simple Cone forms are made from Circles with an angle cut from the edge to the Center Point. This creates a closed cone.
Circlematic
1. Locate the Form Templates that have been taped together and are made of plastic. These forms will help you envision your final form. Remember you can use the forms in any direction as long as they fit well.
2.Look at your form. Does the form look like it will be top heavy and fall over? Is the form solid and heavy on the bottom? How can you lighten up the composition?
3. Note the letters on the forms and the direction of the letters. Take a photo to remember if you need to.
4. Set up your slab working area and slab storage space.
5. Label your plastic bags.
6. Select your templates
7. Roll out your clay. Trace your templates with a vertical needle tool.
8. Set the forms on the covered board. To speed up drying place a dry paper towel over the forms overnight.
9. Put together forms using Score and Slip methods. 10. When the damp clay forms are sturdy enough to stack and build they will hold their form when picked up.
