Narrative-
Concepts:Storytelling with pottery decoration allowed many ancient civilizations to record unique and revealing narratives of their lives, as a means to record and reinforce their cultural beliefs for coming generations. This was usually integrated into a decorative theme and expressed creatively.
We will explore story telling within the lesson and apply the ideas to the surface of the ceramics you create. Some of the topics you can explore are but not confined to: mythologies, existing stories, personal visions, private stories, memory; human figure, relationships, identity, political and social commentary.
The ceramic object itself can be seen as message and metaphor.
