Artists to Research
Objective:Create a bust sculpture that is hiding something in plain sight. This means that you will need to create facets, door, attics, drawers,or compartments that can be opened.
This should be symbolic to you personally. The Bust does not need to be of you, however it should be about you. The insides will be the part of you that you hide away that you only allow your closest people to see. The outside is your persona and what you allow everyone to see. COlor must be taken into account from the beginning. Ideas must be presented and colors must be discussed Finishing techniques will be done on sample tiles. Make a set of sample tiles to fire( up to 10) ConsiderationsResearch and collect references
Create sketches of the overall composition and how the bust moves in space. Thoughts? Movement: What is the positioning of the head? Is there any tilt in the head? If the eyes are visible where are they looking? Does the gaze mean something? What is the expression? Cross Section/open area? Will the bust have a drawer? Hinge? Insides? Is it Split open? Is there detail on the inside? Is it displayed as a specimin? Is it displayed as a whole? |
