VASE Q&AQ:What is VASE?
A: VASE is a Visual Art Scholastic Event. At the Regional event students are interviewed by a Juror to determine the degree each artwork demonstrates originality in concept, technical expertise, understanding Art TEKS, and the interpretation of the students stated intent. Q:When is VASE? A:TBA Q: Where is VASE? A: TBA Q: Do I have to be passing all of my classes to participate? A: YES- you must be academically eligible. Q:How do I sign up for VASE? A:Sign up with your teacher of record. Q: If I have two art classes what do I do? A: Which class did you make the art for VASE in? Sign up with them. Q: How much is the entry fee? A: 17$ an Artwork -Pay your art teacher before the deadline. -Please pay online Q:How many artworks can I present? A: Two is the maximum artworks you can submit. Q: I want to submit two works from two different courses? A: Sign up with each teacher- They are the ones supervising the work. Q: What Level do I sign up for? A: Experience level is based on Credits. |

Jurors will look for originality of concept, technical expertise, understanding of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for visual art, and the interpretation of the student's stated intent. Jurors at the regional level will evaluate student artwork using the following standard:
